If you’re like many of the highly-driven women that I work with, you’ve been encouraged to dream big and work hard your entire life

And while there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with dreaming big and working hard, your nervous system health often becomes the unspoken collateral damage.

If you’re new to the concept of healing your nervous system, you may not even realize that the issues you’re facing are related to this complex part of your body.

But let me assure you that uncovering this new way of understanding — learning a new language to explain and deal with the way you’re feeling — allows everything in your life to shift.

I know, because I’ve been where you are.

Successful on the outside, lost on the inside

For the better part of my life, I was a highly driven surgeon and entrepreneur, hitting one brilliant milestone after another both in my career and in my personal life.

I traveled to 55 countries, spoke multiple languages, and had influential connections all over the world. I was the trusted lifetime friend and safe confidante, the supportive daughter, and the generous lover.

On the outside, it looked like I had it all. But on the inside, I felt lost.

I felt overwhelmed, alone, unable to create a thriving relationship, and crushed by the anxiety that I would never feel fulfilled or at peace with myself. I developed a bad case of acne rosacea and irritable bowel disease, with symptoms so severe they landed me in a hospital.

It took me hitting rock bottom - body and soul crushed - for my healing journey to finally emerge and lead me to true fulfillment and peace.

My personal healing journey

I set about studying and devoting myself to learning about all the ways our feelings originate in the nervous system.

I wanted to understand how our brain-body system works, and how our evolution and ancient human wisdom has equipped us with the necessary tools to regulate our nervous system.

Step by step, I began to implement and embody these lessons in my own daily life. I changed the way I spoke to myself. I started making different, more intentional decisions.

And my reality shifted.

By feeling calmer, more confident, and more empowered, I developed a very different way of relating to others... a very different way of doing business... a very different way of parenting.

Now that I was regulated, I was able to create a whole new world for not only me but my family.

My personal

Today, I have a long-term supportive relationship, four wonderful children, and live a simple, authentic life in Bali.

Here, I am able to focus on the two things that bring me the deepest delight: spending quality time with my young family and helping other women heal their nervous system.

I know that if enough women can create a better, healthier nervous system, it will create a ripple effect that will transform their families, their communities, and our society.

Healing your nervous system can change your life, but it can also create a better society — one that is less focused on consumption and greed and more focused on healing our relationship with Earth.

  • I have more than 15 years of clinical experience as a surgeon and international researcher
  • I founded one of the most visited websites in Europe for evidence-based information on health, used by more than 20,000 health specialists and clinics
  • At 28 years old, I was admitted as the youngest member (and fourth female member) of the top scientific society for oral surgeons in Europe
  • I have studied and blended neuroscience, psychology, and buddhism for more than 8 years, including 7 years of mindfulness and Buddhism practice with Josh Korda, one of the most prominent Buddhist teachers in the US
  • I am also trained in Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Treatment, and the treatment of attachment disturbances

The brain is not the only origin of your negative The brain is not the only origin of your negative thoughts. Worry, guilt, shame, hopelessness... all of these can manifest elsewhere in your body.  But, you've probably been taught that you need to work with your mind (thought talk therapy, mindfulness, etc.) to change these negative thoughts.  But negative thoughts can also be triggered by your body. When your nervous system senses danger or a threat, your autonomic nervous system sends signals to the brain that trigger negative thoughts.  It doesn't matter if the threat is real or perceived. When you're in a situation that triggers your nervous system, your body releases hormones like adrenaline and cortisol, which can cause feelings of anxiety and depression.  If your nervous system is dysregulated, this spiral of negative thoughts and feelings will be harder to get and stay out of.  Do you experience a lot of worrisome or depressive thoughts?
